the show was an automobile constructed with a revolutionary new composite material - the fiberglass dream – the Corvette. A two seat convertible GM hoped would capture the sports car market from manufacturers like Jaguar and MG did more than that, it captured the hearts and imaginations of all that saw it. And with that, the love affair began.

Never before or since has an American manufactured automobile been so loved and sought after as the Chevrolet Corvette. Johnny Carson, Burt Reynolds, Ricky Van Shelton, John Mellencamp, Rosemary Clooney, Roy Orbison, Dinah Shore, Jay Leno and even The Duke (John Wayne) have owned Corvettes. Enthusiast, young and old felt the pulse quickening thrill at the sheer sight of the Vette.
